Guest Post: When Fantasty Meets Reality

Today we have a very special guest post from Ian, formerly, and I think maybe currently, of The Daily Dose of Reality.  If you don't know Ian you're missing out. He's hilarious, far surpasses my ability to throw out a "that's what she said," and truly doesn't give a shit and I love him for that!  Most importantly though, he can keep up with us Chicks when it comes to sports talk (and runs one of my 4 leagues)...

Fantasy Football.  Those two words are as important to me as Happy Thanksgiving or Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah, etc.  Most of you non heebs know what Christmas morning is like.  You remember what it's like as a kid, and now as an adult if you have kids.  It's exciting.

So is Fantasy Football.

More specifically, draft day(s).

I added the (s) as I am in five leagues this year.  For the record, I am in at minimum three as I run two league, but this year I got a bit carried away.

It's like Christmas morning.  The live drafts that I attend are just that.  I sit there and draft my team(s) and feel as though I am going to go undefeated and will never drop a player unless it's due to injury.

This is where Fantasy meets Reality.

We are now in the fourth week of the season and in some leagues, I have made up to 10 moves.  My fantasy dream teams are at best 2-1, and at worst, 1-3.  I am in 8th place all the way to 1st place in each of my leagues.  I find myself having drafted so many shit-fuck players my head spins with each game.  Shit meaning I may be having let's say Drew Brees as my QB, only to play against him in another league and yelling SHIT YEAH or AW FUCK every time he throws a TD.  It's really a love-hate type of thing that seems to happen to me every year.

And yet?

I keep coming back for more.

And so do you.

I can't quite relate anymore as my teams have gone 4 for 4 the last two weeks (knocking on wood), but if you want to commiserate with Ian, you can connect with him over email at ravenlunatic76 [at] gmail [dot] com, or find him on Twitter HERE. Bet you can't guess what team he's a fan of!

  1. HA! KLZ! Every year I claim I'm going to do Fantasy Football and every year I chicken out... this year I had a legit reason... my wedding.... maybe next year I'll buck up... but I know for sure I won't have a certain tall QB as my fantasy QB... you know who I mean. SO disappointing.

Maybe I'll start a fantasy reality tv league. ;)
