What's there to say? I'm just a simple girl living in a hockey-obsessed town. I've lost my voice cheering on my team to the Stanley Cup finals, and I have also learned humility watching that same team finish in last place two years in a row.And, still I bleed copper and blue. So I feel confident that I have a good enough perspective to offer my thoughts on the fist-fueled game of hockey - and even if it's not, so long as there are radio call-in shows for every other wannabe-pro to rant on, you can rest assured that mine won't be the most idiotic opinion out there.

Born and raised in Kentucky (p.s. we do consider ourselves a southern state), I was wearing U.K. Blue from an early age. U.K. actually stands for the University of Kentucky and not, as many would assume, the United Kingdom. Let's go ahead and clear that up to avoid later confusion about why the British are playing in the SEC tournament. U.K. sports are not just a tradition, but an actual religion in our house. U.K. Basketball is a tiny slice of springtime Heaven. I will also comment occasionally on horse racing (which we enjoy with a bottle of Woodford Reserve bourbon in the Bluegrass state) and the culture of sports in whatever region we happen to live at the moment. Being Army, we move every 3 years and we rarely know where we will end up. So, I might be discussing my first ever rugby game in Germany or the amount of Seattle Seahawks paraphernalia I was forced to buy just to blend with the locals. ShanaI'm a New Yorker who knows a little bit about a lot of sports. I like baseball and I'm a Yankee fan...although I've never truly forgiven them for getting rid of Joe Torre. I love basketball...but I think the NBA is filled with a bunch of thugs and creeps. March Madness is my favorite time of year. And the purchase of Giants season tickets last year has made me a somewhat reluctant football fan. I have a lot of opinions and I'm not afraid to share them. Opinion #1...Golf is stupid and boring and should not qualify as a sport.

I'm an East coast girl born and raised in Maryland thriving in the land of Dixie. Living smack dab in the middle of the bible belt and the praise of the almighty Paul Bear Bryant is where you'll find me. As for my roots I bet you're expecting me to claim I'm a die hard Ravens fan - you'd be wrong, I'm actually a die hard Steelers fan. Yes you read that right. Before you say I'm a traitor to my home team, I do have love for many of my home teams including the Washington Capitals, the Washington Redskins, Washington Wizards and my favorite home team the Baltimore Orioles [the Nationals aren't too shabby either]. My love of sports isn't just on the pro level, I actually love college football and basketball. I've always been a North Carolina Tarheels Basketball fan [Michael Jordan obsession, what?] - and most recently I have become a huge University of Alabama Crimson Tide fan. When you move to Alabama you have to choose a side, and I chose mine wisely. ROLL TIDE ROLL! I am a Steel Curtain Lovin', Tide Rollin', O-Yellin' Sports Fan who bleeds black, gold, and houndstooth!
